A Documentary Approach to Your Standesamt Day

Quiet, candid coverage of your civil ceremony, from the last minutes before you walk in to the moment you sign your name.

"Photographs should feel like memory. Quiet, true, and entirely your own."

What to Expect

How Your Day Unfolds

Here's exactly how a Standesamt ceremony flows with me there. The first two steps are part of your ceremony package. Everything after that is extended coverage, added on if you'd like it.

01

Arrival & Guests

30 mins

I arrive early to scout the light and the space, confirm timing with you both, and check the venue's rules. If guests are already arriving, I'm photographing that too, candid and unposed. We're usually in touch beforehand as well, just a quick call or WhatsApp.

The Ceremony

02

20-30 mins

I stay out of the way, no directing, no interrupting, working within whatever space the Standesamt allows. I cover the vows, the ring exchange, the signing, and the kiss, along with reactions from guests.

Group Shots

03

20-30 mins

Relaxed group and family photos with everyone who attended, with full guidance on posing and any particular combinations you'd like captured.

Couple Portraits

04

1-2 hour extended coverage

A dedicated one on one session, just the two of you, near the Standesamt or a location of your choice. Light, relaxed direction, nothing stiff or overly posed.

Post Celebration

05

extended coverage

Coverage can continue wherever you celebrate afterward, a restaurant, a garden, wherever you've chosen. I capture it candidly: toasts and speeches, your first dance, guests celebrating, and the small details like the food and decor. Billed at the same €150 per hour.

Delivery

06

5 to 7 working days

Every image is carefully culled and edited individually in color and black and white before your gallery is delivered to your email.

Optional Extended Coverage

Elopements & Extended Portraits

Not planning a big registry office ceremony, or want more time together afterward? I also shoot relaxed elopement sessions anywhere in Berlin, no guest list required, and offer an optional one on one portrait session as part of extended coverage. Get in touch and we'll figure out what works for you.

Recent Work

From a Berlin Standesmt Wedding

A selection from a recent civil ceremony, preparations through celebration.

"We had our Standesamt ceremony in Berlin and honestly had no idea what to expect from a photographer. David made the whole thing so easy, we sorted everything over WhatsApp and finalized the details within a few days. On the day he was already there when we arrived, completely unobtrusive during the ceremony but somehow caught every moment we cared about. The group shots after were relaxed and quick, he definitely knew his craft and exactly how to pose everyone without it feeling forced. The photos are genuinely better than we ever imagined. and he truly captured the our most important day so beautifully"
